This is a collection of songs I made during the past year.  There are vibes from a lot of things; Gang of Four, Talking Heads, Phil Elverum, early Beatles, 90's alt rock (Foo Fighters, The Pillows).  Give it a listen!

sketchbook, gouache presents...

it's been a lil bit since I last posted here, here's what I've been up to!

first there was some sketchbooking...

I started watching 'Twin Peaks' and also I've seen every episode of Law & Order ever, so I decided to take a shot at some portraits...

I went back to some black and white stuff for a little

Then text started getting involved...

Then I decided to bust out the gouache, which led to a new love in my life

At some point I started adding some frames around things, which feels pretty exciting.  There's something self referential and voyeuristic to it.  Some of these are Christmas presents for people, I'm a little sad to let them go.

And then there was this painting of an abstracted kid wearing a hat playing outside.  I kinda like it.

also, a few weeks ago my work was featured on the Beautiful/Decay blog.  Go look, they do a great job finding amazing known/unknown artists across different mediums (like me!).

On top of this I've been working on songs over the past year or so and in a few days I'm going to put it up on bandcamp.  Here's one of the songs from it...listen!!!

giant sketchbook post

I have been doing a lot of travelling over the summer, so most of my time was spent with my head in my sketchbook.  I have a ton of stuff that I'm not even posting, here's 2 sketchbooks worth of excerpts. Somewhere along the way I got into the habit of working fast and I ended up filling a sketchbook in two weeks or so.

Toward the end of the second sketchbook I started playing around with black/white, using ink/gouache.

I have a millions of things in my sketchbook that may never see the light of day (as I have no scanner), but for the time being here are a few of the things I got done this summer
